  • Colours around your house that can uplift any mood

Colours around your house that can uplift any mood

Colours play an important role in influencing our day to day moods at home and they also happen to reflect our very own personalities. If you ever feel down, studies show that something as simple as surrounding yourself with brighter, happier colours can help cheer you up. Here is Nahas Interiors’ list of colours that can definitely brighten up any home and any mood!

    Ivory

Ivory is a classic, neutral shade that has a calming presence and complements almost every other colour on the spectrum perfectly. Not being the brightest shade, pairing it with an exciting and bolder colour such as gold will give any room tons of character. What’s more, you can never really go wrong with ivory, it’s a great base colour and even go together great with wood giving you that lovely natural feeling right at home.

    Yellow

If you could sum up joy in one colour it would definitely be yellow! Yellow is known as the happiest colour on earth and is used in colour therapy and psychology to invoke feelings of happiness, optimism and positive overall feelings. Yellow is a very flexible shade and is great for your living room, kitchen, study, bathroom and even your bedroom. Anywhere you feel needs a dash of cheerfulness, Nahas Interiors recommends adding in some yellow!

    Pink

Over the years, pink has always had the stigma that it is purely feminine colour. However, Nahas Interiors believes that pink has started to present itself as colour with much more variance and compatibility with other shades. Firstly, as a pastel colour it automatically exuberates calming and peaceful vibes that can help any one distress after a long tiring day. Secondly, depending on what colours you pair pink with, it can give off a playful, fun vibe or even fit in a charmingly opulent setting.

  • The Best Interior Design Trends that never go out of style

The Best Interior Design Trends that never go out of style

Every now and then, it’s nice to give your home a refreshing makeover. Whether it’s a colour scheme change or even new furniture, it’ll leave you feeling content with the change of pace at home. Here are some of Nahas Interiors most timeless interior design recommendations that never go out of date.

    Minimalism

Minimalistic design really plays on the saying, ‘less is more, and too much is tacky’. A minimalistic room is designed around a lot of negative space and simplistic colours, details, design and space. These rooms give off a peaceful, calming and decluttered vibe which is something that everyone likes, being in the past, present or the future. Nahas Interiors recommend clean and open spaces and spaced out furniture with lots of room breathe, as the perfect elements to create an elegantly minimalistic room.

    Artwork

Hanging framed art pieces or canvases have always been a staple in every home. But why has artwork always managed to secure a place in any room without seeming overly cliché or repetitive? That’s simply because of the variability that artwork possesses. A single art piece has the ability to completely brighten a room and help it feel more upbeat and less drab, and as mentioned before, art is something that is always evolving and never goes out of style!

    Plants

Last but not least, plants are a great way to add a bit of character and colour to any room in the house. What’s more is the fact that they come in all shapes, sizes and colours and you can have them hanging from a ceiling, on a shelf or even on a table. Plants come with a lot of versatility so they will never look out of place and even better, Nahas Interiors believe that they will never stop being trendy additions to your home.

  • The basics of Sustainable Interior Design

The basics of Sustainable Interior Design

Sustainable Interior design is a concept that is being incorporated more often in our everyday lives. More designers and companies alike, like Nahas Interiors, prefer these eco-friendly and sustainable designs due to their energy efficiency and society’s growing environmental consciousness for future generations. Below are a few basic tips to help you design more sustainably.

    Recyclable and Eco-friendly Materials

A good way to start off sustainable interior designing would be to ensure that the products and furniture used are made of environmentally friendly materials. These materials include recycled plastics, metal or stone, FSC certified wood (Forest Stewardship Council, an organization that sources wood from forests managed sustainably), bamboo and rattan. Bamboo and rattan are both highly sustainable materials as they grow considerably faster than others, and they are also classified as low-energy and low-waste products as it does not take that much time or energy to treat or process them. They are also recyclable and biodegradable. Recyclable materials are also very versatile and can be used in the production of rugs, side tables, outdoor furniture, bed frames and even bath tubs, so these products are guaranteed to never limit one as they design their home.

     Energy Efficiency is key

Since buildings are responsible for a large chuck of the Earth’s greenhouse gas  production, it’s important for Interior designers to keep this in mind and try to be as energy conservative as possible. This means ensuring that the room incorporates lots of natural light in the day so that the need of lighting is minimal, and installing energy saving bulbs for the lighting required at night. Make sure the windows are properly insulated, and the curtains keep the hot air out and the cold air in to minimize the need to use the air conditioning. Finally, a tip for colder climates, carpets can retain up to 10% of a room’s heat so they’re useful to lessen the need of heating in the winter months.

All in all, it’s high time that every individual takes a step towards living a more sustainable and eco-friendly life. We at Nahas Interiors have also starting integrating sustainability in our designs and we encourage you to do so as well. In the past, being eco-friendly was considered costly and difficult, but we have now been able to integrate it seamlessly in our lives and our homes and therefore we should all make an effort to be more sustainable for the generations to come.

  • Trending colour palettes for the new season

Trending colour palettes for the new season

    Bohemian Earthy Tones
Bohemian interior design, also known as Boho, is a very recent aesthetic that has just started to catch the eye of many designers. It’s also known as having an urban jungle in your home due to its use of rich earthy tones and lots of plants all around. Boho interior designing not only looks unique, but it’s also an excellent way to stay in touch with nature when you’re living a fast paced, career oriented life in a busy city. When you’re tired after work, you can always sit back, relax and take in the warm natural colours, striking patterns and beautiful botanicals and always feel one step closer to nature.

    Champagne
Champagne is a neutral beige shade that, when paired well with a great colour that complements it, can change the whole atmosphere of the room. Using more neutral tones such as brown and white with champagne will result in a relaxed, holistic aura which will be great for a bedroom or a study. Whereas, pairing champagne with metallic colours such as gold or silver will look rich and luxurious which is great for a living room or dining room. Being such a versatile shade, Nahas Interiors recommends champagne as a great base colour that you can use as the foundation to style and design any room in the house.

    Pastel Palette
A lot of millennials and Gen Z kids are coming to the age where it’s time leave home and have a place for themselves. Amongst these youngsters, fun loving, pastel and summery colours are popular picks for their homes. Pastel palettes consist of loads of bright, exuberant colours such as pinks, yellows, greens and blues. When mixed and match correctly these shades give off joyful vibes which leaves it impossible to be sad in any of these vibrantly coloured rooms.

  • Why Holistic designing is the future of the Interior design Industry

Why Holistic designing is the future of the Interior design Industry

As of 2020, studies show us that people are now spending more time at home than ever before due to the global Corona Virus pandemic. Some people who are still working remotely are currently spending up to 90% of their day at home.

Keeping this in mind, people’s homes have now become a place where they spend majority of their time. It’s now a place where they need peace of mind when they work so that they can maximize their full productivity potential, not just a place to sleep in at night. This is why Nahas Interiors would like to introduce the concept of holistic designing.

Holistic interior design revolves around prioritizing and amplifying the well-being of the mind, body and soul of the people residing in that area. Whether it be their living room, bedroom, at home office or even their kitchen, holistically designed rooms provide a calming and tranquil energy for anyone to just remain in a space of balanced mental health. Studies also show that calming and aesthetically pleasing environments help boost our creativity, productivity, critical thinking and even brainstorming capabilities.

Additionally, holistic designs emphasize a lot on other elements such as Feng shui, colour therapy, eco-friendly living and even aromatherapy. All these different factors combined help remedy a tired psyche.

When living in a bustling city, one tends to lose touch with nature. Eco-friendly living promotes having a space with a lot plants and using simple, sleek and ethically produced organic furniture pieces to help outfit a sustainably conscious but equally holistic looking home.

In today’s fast paced world, it’s refreshing to be able to simply unwind and breathe in a truly refreshing and serene space of your own. If you’re home and swamped with loads of work or if you just came back from sitting in hours of bumper to bumper traffic, a holistically designed room would help you rejuvenate and cleanse your mind of any unwanted stress and help improve your overall mood. So keeping this in mind, Nahas Interiors recommends the holistic approach to clients, as it will be the key to success for the future of the interior

  • Colors Inspired by Travel around the World

Colors Inspired by Travel around the World

As the seasonal change motivates the change of the decoration and accessories of the house. The return of summer is, for example, especially consider the end of summer almost as the beginning of the year.

And sure enough, it looks like corals and pinks that have been big in the last year are definitely transitioning into sea inspired blue and cool greens.

Sea inspired blues creating in any space.

“Neo-Mint, cobalt, moody ink blue, yellow, and hazelnut” are the colors I chose to be a part of my design moods, those colors imparts calmness, restful sleep, anda relaxing Zen effect, are the colors inspired by my travel.

“The faster technology moves and the more convenience it offers, the more we seek activities, experiences and lifestyles that impart slowness and realness into our lives,” says Dee Schlotter, senior color manager for PPG, in a press release.

“The need for simplicity and escapism from technology is, in part, the reason that consumers are craving blues like Chinese Porcelain that bring us closer to natural elements such as the sea and sky—creating serenity in any space.”

Taking inspiration from far and wide not only creates a visual representation of the places you’ve been, also colors when added .

“Traveling brings us important memories, and integrating these memories into your décor will make you happy and add interesting layers to your interior,” said Ross Hamilton Englisbe, director general and president of Paris-based Hamilton Conte. “Interiors are all about expressing yourself and bringing your personal joy into a space.”

Each time I travel, I get more and more inspired by the culture, nature and people around in that area. The space is more interesting when it has been drawn by inspiration from different places.

As a designer I look at everything around me from a different view, each city I visit has its own mood and color pallets. Travelling exposes you to things you have never seen before. Every time I return from my travel I bring something new to incorporate into my designs.

We don’t like to concentrate our designs into one area, it’s very important that the space flows and people enjoy an experience while they walk through.

This allowed me to unify the space while using different styles.

You can mix and match colors and tones but the most important thing is to stay in the same mood/vibe. Overall concepts and ideas has to be determined and then you play around with colors within that.
